Chinese-language media reports today on the grand opening of Italian luxury brand Bulgari’s newest boutique, located in Pudong’s Shanghai IFC mall. Advertised as a complimentary “twin boutique” to Bulgari’s flagship at Plaza 66, this new location employs a “new design concept” incorporating a more open, transparent layout, “luxurious interior design, refined displays and delicate lighting effects.” Additionally, at 340 square meters, this is not only Bulgari’s newest location but also the largest in east China.

In addition to its size, the store’s layout stands out. There are separate entrances for the jewelry and watches section and the leather, scarves, sunglasses and accessories section, though customers can access both sections when in the store. Also, the location is more open than other Bulgari boutiques, which “makes every customer feel as if they’re walking among classic Roman architecture.”

The boutique’s displays and lighting are also notable, combining warm hardwood and subtle textures along with more natural, “sun-like” lighting. Interiors combine brown Spanish marble accents with soft beige decorative walls, deep maroon counters and contrasting maple display cases, and white fabric sofas lend themselves to a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere throughout. In addition to seating in the accessories section for weary guests, the VIP section is outfitted with luxurious leather couches.
